This ranch and herd  are located near historic Old San Patricio on the banks of the Nueces River, 30 miles west of Corpus Christi.  It's wooded and brushy South Texas 'bottom land', native ground to Texas Longhorns.  I feel blessed to be around these cattle,  and have emphasized building a herd around outstanding quality, "total package" Longhorn cattle with oustanding horn, color, pedigree, production and solid conformation.

JL McBride's Pride (75.25" Tip 2 Tip)

    JL McBride's Pride,  is a 2005, 2006  Horn Showcase Champion out of  Doug Hunt's first generation 70" bull,  Hunt's Jupiter.  He started work here in April, 2009.  Pictures hardly do justice to his massive stature and very wide backwards horn direction .  He is an exceptional, unique example of all the horn, color, conformation, size and pedigree one would seek in a great herd sire. Currently, he is working this entire herd.

Some of our best cows have delivered fine calves sired by McBride's Pride this year with over half the calf crop still on the way. This year we also ended up with an awesome Hubbells Captain Hook heifer calf  out of Miss Culpepper and a fine LP Sombrah heifer calf out of our longest horn cow.   Our "Sale Pen" represents cows bred to McBride at all price levels,  and you will find prices on most of the cattle,  listed on their individual pages.   2010 calves are looking great and we are starting to wean.
